The annual meeting of the cooperators of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study provides an important opportunity for communication, exchange of ideas and research plans, along with renewal of friendships. This meeting also provides a perspective on the overall Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study.
Presentation guidelines:
The following guidelines have been established by the Scientific Coordinating Committee (SCC) for this meeting. Oral presentations are limited to 50 time slots of 10 minutes each. Speakers should plan for an 8-minute presentation followed by a 2-minute question and answer period. A poster session will be conducted if necessary and desired, contingent upon participants' expression of interest in poster presentations or if oral paper requests exceed 50. In the interest of sharing information regarding ongoing research at Hubbard Brook, presentations on new research which have not yet produced any data are welcome. However, because we avoid concurrent sessions and limit the duration of the meeting, it may be impossible to accommodate all interested speakers; hence, the SCC discourages presentations that are based on studies being done at other places with no clearly-stated relationship to the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study.
At the meeting, Powerpoint presentations must be delivered to Chris Eagar on a thumb drive well in advance of the session in which they will be presented (hours, not minutes!). Presentation file names should start with the presenter's last name. We cannot accommodate changes of computers for presentations, so Apple users should check their presentation on a Windows machine prior to giving it to Chris. Chris can accept modest size powerpoints (up to 10 MB) via email (ceagar@fs.fed.us) prior to the meeting.
Registration information:
Your registration fee will cover refreshments at coffee break, two lunches, the dinner and refreshments and entertainment at the barn dance and social on July 8. If you are interested in attending this year's meeting, please complete the attached form and mail it to the address below with your registration fee ($50 standard; $25 student). If you register online, there is now an option to make a secure online payment with PayPal. However, if you opt to register online but pay by check, please mail your check prior to the meeting.
We have changed the structure of the registration form to get more accurate head counts and dietary preferences for meals. Researchers can still pay for themselves and students in one lump sum, but please have every student register separately.
If you are interested in childcare during the meetings, please contact Amey Bailey (ameybailey@fs.fed.us).
