In 1969-71 an interstate highway (I-93) cut through Camp Osceola, isolating and diverting the drainage water from about 18 ha of the NE subdrainage for the Lake, thereby reducing the total surface drainage area for the Lake to 85 ha. The ecological impact of this interstate highway on the Lake and its watershed will be considered as we progress on this tour.
