"Swimming Rock" juts into the lake

This exposed shoulder of the local bedrock is used as a destination for swimmers willing to paddle across from the public beach, and for the occasional canoeists enjoying a picnic. While it is a modest-sized lake, many people like to fish at Mirror Lake. The lake was regarded as a ‘warm-water fishery’ in the past (bass sp., perch sp. pickerel sp.), but since 199x the NH F&GD has stocked trout (rainbow sp.). This supports a small village of ice-fishing ‘shacks’ each winter.

More to come...
