Overview Introduction

This set of web pages is a guide for the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (HBEF) and the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES) in New Hampshire (43O56'N, 71O45'W; the geographic center of the HBEF). The guide was originally developed as a booklet to provide a description of the HBEF, and to summarize the research activities and organization of the HBES. It is envisioned that this document will be used by visitors to the Experimental Forest, scientists or students initiating research activities and individuals seeking information about Hubbard Brook.

Throughout the guide, figures and tables illustrate the diversity of information available at Hubbard Brook, and efforts of research scientists pursuing long-term ecological studies.
