This is a completed pit dug by Hui-Ju Wu, Dan Falco and
Rebecca Tavani. This particular pit was very shallow to bedrock (Dan
is standing on the bottom), and they never got below the 0-10 cm layer.
After a pit is excavated, it is often profiled according to soil horizon.
